About our safety policy…

No accidents and no injuries—eliminate every one. That’s our goal. It takes commitment and effort from all of our employees to practice safety all of the time. Hazards can be sudden so we must be ready. As a policy we enforce our safety practices consistently and immediately. We partner with qualified experts to help us identify and control our risks. We want a safe work environment to be an integral part of our business. We are honored that our commitment to our safety program has Denney qualified to perform work for safety conscious customers like IPL, IU Health, Rolls Royce, and Eli Lilly.  Denney Excavating participates in the Coalition for Construction Safety and has passed a rigorous audit to become CCS Certified.

–Randy Denney, President

Safety

Denney Excavating partners with RMS Safety to implement a formal safety program to benefit our employees and customers. The daily goal is to have zero workplace accidents. Having a consistent EMR of less than 1.0 is an ongoing goal.

Safety Practices

Weekly job site audits, ongoing training, and weekly toolbox meetings at the job site help maintain our exceptional safety record. Job hazard analysis is conducted prior to any job beginning and a Daily Task Analysis is conducted daily.

Training

Employees are trained in disciplines such as GHS Hazcom, First Aid and CPR, Competent Person Training in many disciplines, OSHA 10/30 Hour Construction Safety, OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training, and Underground Storage Tank decommissioning. We qualify employees for special waste operations through initial 40 hour HAZWOPER training and 8 hour annual refresher training.

Awareness

We maintain awareness of current safety practices and benchmarks as a member of the Coalition for Construction Safety and of the National Demolition Association. We have had MICCS/CCS Qualified/Certified Status for several years along with participating in PICS Auditing, Avetta, and Ariba Contractor Programs. We carry an EMR industry low of .70 for 2019. We have strict requirements and all subcontractors must be Prequalified to work for Denney Companies.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column] [/et_pb_row] [/et_pb_section]
